Writing Graphic Organizer

friday freebie pencilIf you’ve followed us very long on TpT, or just looked at our classroom blogs, you probably know that we both LOVE doing writing activities with our kiddos.  Next week we are taking a little break from our reading series and we needed something to do with the groups that come to us during our daily reading intervention time.  So, we sat down and did a little brainstorming and decided to focus on writing all week long.

We have created a new graphic organizer that we think will help our kids {and their thoughts} stay organized and on topic.  Our plan is to go through each step together on Monday, using “space” as a theme, since we just wrapped up a two week long unit.  Then the rest of the week we are going to do Easter themed writings.  Maybe something about rabbits, an Easter egg hunt and the Easter Bunny.  Hopefully by the end of the week the kids will all be comfortable with this format and be more independent writers.

There are two graphic organizers in this set . .

one for the girlsimage

  and one for the boys.image

If you would like to use these with your kiddos just click {here} to download your own free copy.  We created them on legal size paper.  If you have 11x17 paper available at your school you can enlarge them to give your little writers more space.

Have a great weekend . . . and check back next week to see the new sight word unit we will be adding to our TpT store.  We are putting the finishing touches on it.  It has a variety of games and activities that focus on the first 100 Dolch Sight Words.

  5. Nice post. I learn something more difficult on completely different blogs everyday. It is going to always be stimulating to learn content from different writers and follow a bit of something from their store. I'd desire to use some with the content on my weblog.
