Nuts About 1st Grade

Both of our classes have been completely Nuts About 1st Grade all week with this cute new set of squirrel themed centers that we created. This comprehensive set of activities reviews many of the math and language arts skills we have been working so hard on all month.

It’s been so fun for us to both watch our kiddos work cooperatively with each other on all of these activities.  It continues to amaze us how well they are ALL decoding and reading short vowel words and sight words.

Here’s a little {sneak} peek at all of activities included in this unit . . .

We would LOVE to give away a few sets of these centers to our blogger friends.

Simply post a comment telling us what you are NUTS about along with your email address and you will have a chance to win.

We will choose (3) winners and post their recipes online for all of you.

Good luck everyone . . . this giveaway ends Sunday night at 8:00 pm (CST).

Short Vowel Craftivities

Hello blogging friends!!!  After a wedding, two funerals and adopting a new reading series we are finally feeling like we are back on track and ready to jump right back into the blogging and TpT world.

Right now our firsties are working hard on reviewing letter sounds and reading basic cvc words.  So we thought it was time to jazz up some of our old activities and put them all together in one unit.

We are SO excited to announce the newest addition to our TpT store.

svc 1   svc 3

Students will begin by sound spelling the basic /cvc/ words. If the word has the corresponding short vowel sound they will cut it out and glue it inside the art project. If it doesn’t have the corresponding sound they will glue it on the back of the art project.

We hope you take a few minutes and head over to our TpT store to check out Short Vowel Craftivities.  Your students are guaranteed to have as much fun learning as you do teaching with these cute little craftivities.
